School starts in two days! (updated reading list)

  1. The Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason (edit: finished after I wrote this post and scheduled it- woooo!)
  2. She Loves You (Yeah Yeah Yeah) by Ann Hood (ARC from NetGalley, available June 26, 2018 – so it’s near the top of the list) (edit: just finished this before this published)
  3. Gem & Dixie by Sara Zarr (6% read – my pick for school summer reading, and I need to somehow make up discussion questions for the group)
  4. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khalid Hosseini (To be reread as I teach it every year and want to properly annotate it this time round)
  5. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (To be reread because I’m bringing it back into my curriculum and again, want to annotate properly)
  6. Once and for All by Sarah Dessen (library had it and YAY, I always like a good Dessen novel)
  7. Orange by Ichigo Takano (Manga that has an anime haven’t watched yet. Seen it recommended a lot and it was at the library)
  8. This Is Not a Werewolf Story by Sandra Evans (School library book and what a great title)
  9. Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman (because I have it and it’s a great series)
  10. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (this was on last summer’s list, I have no excuse)
  11. The Pearl by John Steinbeck (summer reading for college prep 10th, which I haven’t taught in three years – the class…I’ve never taught the book, but I think I read it once?)
  12. Solo by Kwame Alexander (summer reading for American Literature, which is YA which makes me soooo happy)
  13. The Crucible by Arthur Miller (American Lit – I have no idea if I’ve read this. I was in it in ninth grade, but did I read it? Maybe?)
  14. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer (American Lit – and have been meaning to read for forever, so you know)

FIVE LEFT!! I’m currently reading Into the Wild, but it’s not needed until second quarter, so I don’t feel super rushed. I’m so happy!!
